About Me
I grew up in Newport Beach, California, with missionary parents whose work took us to many places. Along the way, I met people who seemed to carry a sense of purpose, even through hardship. This made me wonder: where does enduring purpose come from?
After high school, I moved to Paris for college, majoring in Philosophy and Psychology. My search for purpose guided me throughout these years. Later, teaching English in the French Basque Country, I found purpose through connection—with the environment, with others, and with myself. But while I found purpose in these experiences, I hadn’t yet discovered it in a professional sense or in a way that allowed me to give back through meaningful work.
This search took me to Birmingham, UK, where I pursued an MA in Ethics and Philosophy of Religion. I found purpose in crafting complex arguments and creating through philosophy. Yet, much of the work was done in isolation. Though I loved the creation, I missed the connection.
That’s when I came across a coding bootcamp at the University of Birmingham. Coding brought logic, creation, and connection with others together. Over six months, I worked with others to build apps and websites. I found purpose in collaboration, but it still felt fleeting—like something was missing.
After the bootcamp ended, I sold my car and traveled for six months to reflect. Purpose was by no means absent from my life. What I lacked was a professional purpose—a purpose I could grow with and use to give back through my work. That’s when TheBaerBønes came into focus: a personal brand that lets me build professional purpose, both for myself and others.
TheBaerBønes is both my own vehicle for professional purpose and it allows me to help others uncover the core of their professional purpose. Together, we can all create something meaningful and fulfilling.
That's some of my story up until now. If you want to join me and Build Your Purpose, send me a message! You can also check out my YouTube Channel (where I do a bit of vlogging) or Newsletter to learn more about my philosophy and me.
